Keith Moore

Dr. Keith Moore has more than 30 years of experience in the design, implementation, and analysis of agricultural and natural resource-based projects and policies around the world. His has managed research, education, and technology transfer programs, diagnosed institutional and technical constraints, designed information systems, facilitated stakeholder communication, and led conflict management workshops. He has conducted over 70 Short-Term Technical Assistance and Collaborative Research Missions for USAID, IFAD, and FAO, and published 18 refereed articles, 20 book chapters, two edited books, over 60 technical assistance reports and extension publications, and over 75 national and international conference presentations. He has recently been leading assessments of agricultural training and education institutions in Armenia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Senegal, and Uganda for the Innovation for Agricultural Training and Education (innovATE) project and supervises M&E for USAID/Senegal’s Education and Research for Agriculture (ERA) and USAID/Tanzania’s Innovative Agricultural Research Initiative (iAGRI). He holds a bachelor’s degree in political economy from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a master’s degree in rural development from The Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands, and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Moore currently serves as Interim Executive Director of the Office of International Research, Education, and Development at Virginia Tech.
