Gaye Burpee

Gaye Burpee is a Senior Advisor for Agriculture and Climate Change for Catholic Relief Services with a focus on rural livelihoods and natural resources in rainfed agriculture and has worked with smallholders in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. She served previously as the CRS Deputy Director for Program Quality and Support, as Deputy Regional Director for Latin America, as the soil scientist for a hillsides agriculture research program at CIAT (International Center for Tropical Agriculture), as a Research Associate in socio-economics at the University of Michigan, director of an economic research program in the West Indies and served in Peace Corps. She studied sociology and Latin American at Scripps College followed by an MS and PhD in soil science and agronomy from Michigan State University.
