Alex Winter-Nelson

Alex Winter-Nelson is Director of the Office of International Programs at the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences of the University of Illinois.  He is also a Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics. He has over 25 years of experience with research and teaching on agricultural  development, with a focus on the impacts of market and technical innovations on poverty and food security in Africa. His work in Africa was reinforced through visiting appointments at Egerton University in Kenya and The University of Pretoria in South Africa as well as through advisory work for the World Bank, the International Food Policy Research Institute, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics and other international agencies.
