K Gamble

Dr. Kevin Gamble is the Associate Director and Chief Technology Officer for the National eXtension Initiative. He provides executive leadership and vision for the strategic development and management of the information technology infrastructure: systems, software, applications development, and professional development for the web-based educational programs of Cooperative Extension. Prior to joining eXtension, he was the Chief Technology Officer for the American Distance Education Consortium and served as the project director for the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Internet Satellite Extension Project. He has 30 years of information technology leadership in the Land-Grant university system having served at Iowa State University, Oregon State University, USDA, and for the past twenty years at North Carolina State University.

He has worked internationally in Yemen, The Dominican Republic, Malaysia, and with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture in Costa Rica. Most recently, he conducted an Information and Communication Technology assessment with INTSORMIL in Mali. He also served on a team addressing scientific and institutional capacity building to improve agricultural production and food security in sub-saharan Africa for the University of Nebraska and the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa.

Dr. Gamble earned his doctorate of philosophy in Agricultural and Extension Education from Iowa State University. He has a Masters of Science in Agricultural Business and a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from California State University, Chico.
