Emily Levitt Ruppert, World Vision

Dr. Emily Levitt Ruppert is the Senior Policy Advisor for Maternal and Child Nutrition in the Nutrition Centre of Expertise at World Vision International. In this role she supports the global Child Health Now campaign in nutrition advocacy, urging countries to strengthen nutrition-related policies and programs, including community-based nutrition programming. She also represents World Vision on the Scaling Up Nutrition Global Civil Society Network. 

Dr. Ruppert focuses on strengthening food systems to improve nutrition, and is active in the area of agriculture-nutrition linkages. She facilitates a global Agriculture-Nutrition Community of Practices hosted by the UN Standing Committee on Nutrition. Her graduate training was at Cornell University with an MS in Community Nutrition and PhD in International Nutrition with an emphasis on applied anthropological approaches. She has worked in Afghanistan, Uganda, Senegal, Bolivia and Haiti.
